Background and Treatment Approach
I grew up in the small town of Markdale Ontario, where I was an active participant throughout my childhood in recreational and competitive sports. After experiencing a significant injury, I began my journey into Massage Therapy by first studying Kinesiology at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science and a minor in Psychology. This cultivated my passion for studying the human body, which I brought to Ottawa where I studied Massage Therapy in the Intensive program at Algonquin College. I spent my first year of practice working in Toronto, but since attending Algonquin, the city of Ottawa was constantly calling my name, so I decided to return.
I have a very systematic philosophy when I treat. I use my background in human anatomy and biomechanics, as well as psychology, to understand the underlying factors affecting each individual case. I work with the patient to create a treatment plan that is effective and well-received.
I look forward to having the opportunity to work closely and consistently with such a fantastic multidisciplinary team here at dynamic.
Training and Experience
As a part of my commitment to continuing education and to your care, I have completed the following extra courses and certifications:
Graston Technique ® Therapy Provider
Outside of work I enjoy taking my dog for walks to the park, and have a love-hate relationship with the gym. Much like the majority of amateur athletes, I am a lifelong recreational participant. My sports of choice are Hockey and Fastball, and I am constantly (and so far unsuccessfully) attempting to master the sport of golf.
